While enrolled at UCF, I was a reporter for it's student-run news website, The Charge (formerly known as NSM Today). My time as a reporter for The Charge taught me the basics of reporting and how to work with an editing staff.

When taking UCF's Advanced Reporting course in the spring 2022 semester, I reported on the United Faculty of Florida/UCF Faculty Senate beat. In the spring 2024 semester, I was an editor of The Charge as part of UCF's journalism capstone course. I oversaw the Campus Government section and a team of three reporters. This experience taught me a lot about the importance of editing not just to fix mistakes, but to also help reporters learn and grow.
